Policies & Terms

At The Pampurred Kitty, my goal is to make grooming as safe, comfortable, and stress-free as possible for every kitty. I truly care about the well-being of every cat in my care, and I ask that we work together to make the grooming experience a positive one for everyone.

Please take a moment to read through my policies before booking. If you have any questions or if something doesn’t quite fit your kitty’s needs, please reach out! I’m always happy to discuss things and reasonably accommodate you whenever possible.

Your Cat’s Safety & Well-Being

As your groomer, I reserve the right to refuse or discontinue a grooming service at any time if it is determined that continuing would put the cat or myself at risk.

My priority is always your cat’s well-being. If your kitty becomes overly stressed, is at risk of injuring themselves, or poses a safety concern to themselves or to myself, I may need to stop the groom and have you come pick them up.

In these situations, the final charge may be adjusted depending on how much of the service was completed.

I also reserve the right to modify the requested service based on the individual needs, condition, temperament, or safety of your cat.

Baths and nail trims are included as mandatory parts of a full groom unless otherwise discussed and agreed upon when booking.

Appointments & Pick-Up

Please arrive on time for your appointment.

If you arrive early, please text me and wait in your vehicle until I let you know that it is time to come inside. This helps keep the environment calm and allows me to give each kitty my full attention.

Grooming appointments typically take approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour, but grooming can be unpredictable. Please plan for your appointment to take anywhere from 1–2 hours. It is important to remain close by in the area while I am grooming your cat incase a situation arises where I need to call you back in.

If I need additional time, I will let you know.

Once your kitty's groom is complete, there is a 15-minute grace period for pick-up. After 15 minutes, a kennel fee will begin accumulating on your invoice.

If you arrive more than 15 minutes late to your appointment and I am still able to accommodate the groom, a $20 late fee will be added.

Cancellations, Rescheduling & No-Shows

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please contact me by phone, text or email at least 24 hours before your appointment.

• Cancellations or rescheduling with less than 24 hours' notice are subject to a 50% service fee.

• No-shows will be charged the full price of the scheduled groom.

• If you are more than 15 minutes late to your appointment, I may not be able to complete the groom. If I am unable to accommodate the appointment due to late arrival, it may be treated as a missed appointment.

I completely understand that emergencies happen. If something unexpected comes up, please reach out to me as soon as possible. I’m always happy to discuss the situation and see what we can do.

Fleas & Parasites

Every cat receives a flea check before grooming begins.

If fleas are found, the groom will not proceed until appropriate flea treatment has been given and the cat is confirmed to be flea-free.

If fleas are not disclosed prior to the appointment and are discovered upon arrival, the appointment fee will be due in full before another appointment can be scheduled.

I cannot accept cats with active flea infestations. This policy is in place to protect my family, my pets, my home, and my other clients from a potential infestation.

Grooming Prices & Coat Condition

Grooming prices can vary depending on:

• The type of groom selected

• The condition and length of the coat

• Matting or coat removal

• The cat’s temperament and behavior

• The cat's skin integrity and body condition

• Additional services or time required for the cat’s well-being

Pricing discussed before an appointment is an estimate. The final price may change once I am able to see and assess your kitty in person.

Please keep your phone nearby during the appointment in case I need to contact you regarding a change in service or pricing. If I am unable to reach you, I may proceed with what I believe is reasonably necessary for your cat’s comfort and well-being, and any applicable additional fees will be added to the invoice.

Mat Removal

Mat removal pricing is determined on an individual basis and cannot always be accurately assessed without seeing the cat in person.

Any price discussed before the appointment should be considered an estimate. The final price will be determined after assessing the coat and the work required.

Emergency & Same-Day Appointments

Emergency grooms do happen!

I offer same-day grooming pricing for emergency appointments when I am able to accommodate them.

If you need an appointment outside of my regular business hours, please contact me directly. I’m happy to discuss your situation and see what may be possible.

Sedation & Medication

If your cat has been prescribed a sedative or other medication to help them tolerate grooming, please make sure they receive the appropriate prescribed dose before arriving for their appointment, allowing enough time for the medication to take effect.

For the safety of everyone involved, The Pampurred Kitty requires proof of prescription to be emailed prior to the appointment. A photo of the prescription is perfectly acceptable.

This helps me keep track of prescriptions and expiration dates and, most importantly, helps me help you and your kitty!

Please Do Not Give Your Cat Catnip Before Their Appointment

Please do not give your cat catnip at any time on the day of their scheduled appointment.

Catnip can affect cats differently and may make handling more difficult or unpredictable during grooming. If catnip has been given that day, the appointment may need to be cancelled and the appointment fee may apply.

Nail Cap Applications

If you choose to add a Nail Cap Application to your kitty’s service, please understand that there is always a possibility that the caps may come off at home.

Some cats simply will not tolerate nail caps and may chew or work at them until they come off. This has happened with some of my clients in the past.

Because this is dependent on the individual cat's behavior after leaving the salon, refunds will not be provided if nail caps come off at home due to the cat taking them off.

Carriers Are Required

For the safety of your kitty, all cats must arrive in a private, secure carrier.

Cats will not be accepted for grooming if they arrive without a carrier.

If you are bringing multiple cats from the same household, each cat must have their own individual carrier.

Vaccinations

The Pampurred Kitty recommends cats to be appropriately vaccinated for their grooming appointments.

This policy is in place to help protect your kitty, my other clients, my pets, and myself from preventable illnesses and diseases.

I thoroughly disinfect between cats, but, similar to a veterinary setting, I see multiple cats throughout the day. Some illnesses can be airborne or may not be completely prevented through routine disinfection.

Vaccination is one of the best ways to help protect your cat's health.

If you choose to proceed with grooming despite your cat being unvaccinated, you acknowledge the increased risk and accept responsibility for your cat's health should they contract an illness following their appointment.

Injuries During Grooming

Although I take every precaution possible to keep grooming safe and comfortable, cats are animals and can be unpredictable. They can suddenly move, jump, scratch, or react unexpectedly during grooming, which can result in an accidental injury.

By booking and proceeding with a grooming appointment, you acknowledge these inherent risks and agree that The Pampurred Kitty is not responsible for injuries that may occur as a result of a cat's unexpected movement or behavior during grooming, except where otherwise required by law.

If an incident does occur, I will notify you as soon as possible and explain exactly what happened.

Your cat's well-being is always my priority.

Payment

The Pampurred Kitty currently accepts:

• Cash

• E-transfer

• Tap to Pay 

Payment is due in full at the time of service unless otherwise discussed.

I am a confident and skilled groomer, but every cat is different. What works for some may not work for others.

My goal is always to bring my best to the table and work together with you to make grooming as smooth and positive as possible.

I want your kitty to leave feeling and looking their best, and — hopefully — ready to come back and see me again!
